Wireless Controller or Wireless Switch Setup and Configuration Training.
This training focuses on providing a necessary skill and knowledge for install, operate and trouble shoot an enterprise wireless network, including configuring wireless switch, connecting to WAN/LAN, wireless LAN centralized management and implementing the wireless security.
Prerequisites:
Before taking this training, participants should have general technical knowledge regarding wireless devices and basic concepts.
Outline:
1. Wireless controller/Switch Network Setup
- Configuring DNS, IP Forwading
- Configuring Layer 2 Virtual LANs
- Configuring a Wireless LAN/multiple WLAN
2. WLAN Security Setup
- Onboard Captivw Portal/Hotspot
- Encryption: WEP 64, WEP 128/Keyguard, WPA/WPA2 using TKIP/CCMP
- MAC Authentication
3. Basic WIPS (Wireless Intrusion Protection System): Rouge AP Detection
4. WLAN Controller/Switch Management: SNMP. Access Control, User Management
5. WLAN Controller/Switch Services: Self Healing, DHCP, NTP, Switch Discovery
6. Common system issues and what ro look for while diagnosing the cause of a problem: wireless switch issues, Access Port Issues, Client Issues, Miscellaneous Issues, System Logging Mechanism
